5plasma vs LCD
By Jeffrey Liu
I was just a regular Joe looking for a good deal for a new 3D TV on line. The brand did not matter to me as much. My biggest struggle was trying to decide between Plasma vs LCD/LED and active 3D vs passive 3D. I am not in the gaming. I just wanna get a great TV so I can enjoy it after long hours of work. I finally picked this Plasma TV with a newer version of the active shutter goggles. So far, it has been a week and I love it. I think I have made the right decision. This Plasma TV still gives me the great quality of TV in 3D or 2D. The goggles are very light weight. The smart TV features are cool and nice. This TV truly delivers as described on Amazon. The only complaint I have about this TV is that its WiFi is weak. I am not sure if it is the problem from the TV or from my wireless connection. The WiFi still delivers what it is supposed to 95% of the time. I think it is still not too bad for a "smart TV". I would recommend this product to anyone.

5How I fixed my 600Hz TV's 3D
By Brian H. Ramsey
I had issues viewing 3D on this 600 Hz TV.

First, I had to get AG-S350 shutter type 3D glasses. I like that they are rechargeable and that you can connect the charging cable while using them. When you get things started, 3D is great and seems better than theaters.

Second, I had an older HDMI cable that I tried to get a 3D experience from. It didn't work. I ended up using the 3D -> 2D function so I could watch the 3D movies in 2D.

Frustrated, I ended up replacing that HDMI cable with a 8 ft, $100, "Monster HDMI Max 3D Hyper Speed 1000" cable from Best Buy. "Monster Series 8Feet M2000HD M2000 HD HDMI 2.43M Cable for HDTV/TV/21Gbps" for $26.99 from Amazon reseller "Gu Cheng" (not me) is the only 600 Hz cable I could find on Amazon as of March 31, 2012. It lists its performance as 21 Gbps, which the back of the "Monster HDMI Max 3D Hyper Speed 1000" packaging claims is necessary for 600 Hz. I don't know if a lesser cable would have worked or not. The LG owner's manual did not help me with minimum specifications. The LG owner's manual was too busy giving me warnings what not to do so they wouldn't get sued.

Third, 3D still didn't work. I went back to the 3D shutter glasses and re-paired them with the TV.

Suddenly the 3D worked and the video was smoother than theaters and had less side images than 3D passive glasses (side images are where you have one main image and two ghost images off to either side of the main image, and is just my own terminology).

Re-pairing LG AG-S350 3D glasses is done according to the instruction book as follows:
1. Press and hold the power button on the 3D glasses for more than 8 seconds, the green LED light should come on.

2. The green LED light will blink three times and then 3D glasses are ready to pair. (they don't mention that you should release the button for it to blink three times)

3. Turn the TV on and switch to 3D mode.

4. Place your 3D glasses within the recommended pairing distance and turn them on.

5. During pairing, the red and green LED lights will blink alternately.

6. When the pairing is complete, the LED light goes off and pairing with the second 3D TV is complete.

I expect you need to re-pair the glasses whenever you change your HDMI cable (such as when you realize the HDMI cable you had wouldn't cut it for a 600Hz TV).

This is a plasma TV, which are becoming less popular. Apparently, plasmas are still vulnerable to burn in when left on a picture too long. Other than the delicacy of it, I love the TV. My only real complaint is that only the HDMI 1 connection is able to transmit audio. I have seperate audio equipment for that, but it is annoying to coordinate all the different parts.

If I had known the trouble I would end up having, I probably would have bought a passive 3D system. But now that I know how to set things up, I am glad to have the superior 3D technology (until they come out with the glasses-less version in a few years).

Don't forget to tip the delivery men for doing the muscle work and for making sure it works.

5Love my LG 60pm6700 plasma tv
By joey t
Received the tv Friday, April 6th, 2012

Did a lot of reviewing prior to my purchase, read many comments about led and plasma tvs and
visited 4 different stores, some on more than one occasion. I picked the plasma because I like watching sports and the 600hz does the job for motion. Also, the LG 60" pm6700 offers
the best picture and the most options for the money.

Purchased the tv from Amazon, because they have the best overall price, extended warranty and I totally trust their shipping.

From the shipping to the clear picture quality, to the sound, to all of the many options that this tv has to offer, I could not be happier.
